Whassup W/ Me Now

Here is a feature I have added so I can easily keep this updated with as much current info as I feel like typing out! Every once in a while I'll also throw in my 2 cents.. So there.

Note: I will be discontinuing this feature but leave it as archives. This is due to the invention of the Blog! It is easier to write entries into one of these than type it out on a webpage. My first blog can be found HERE.

November, 2003

Whoa, I've let waaay too much time since the last time I wrote in this thing! Well, going to study in England for a year was part of the lack of writing. It was the best year I've ever had...so far! I will try to put up archives from my mass emails if anyone cares to find out or remember what I was up to. Check out my pics page too! Ok, now that the plug for that is done, I shall move on to my current life!

Well, it's nothing all that exciting. I arrived back home feeling a little strange. Things were the same around here but I felt I had grown so much being away. Living back with your parents can be hard. It's not too bad now. I've accepted that this is just a waiting period to save money until I start my life. My boyfriend, Jon, moved from England to the Cayman Islands. He in a way is waiting for me too. I am finishing up my education at CSU Stanislaus in California. It's nothing wonderful, commuting and watching classes on a TV screen. I'm majoring in Communications with a minor in Art History.

On the job front, I work at a local swimming pool mainly targeted at senior citizens. It's a pretty good job and it pays well for someone without a degree yet! There are exercize classes and I like making music tapes for the workout and drawing cartoons of our mascot cat on the whiteboard. That's about as exciting as it gets at the moment!

Work and school keep me busy most of the time so I just hang out at Starbucks and Barnes & Noble to do work, watch movies, meet up w/ friends occasionally, and go go my aunt and uncle's house on weekends when I'm bored! That's about it at the moment!

June, 2002

Well, this month slightly sucks. It started off well with a party on the 2nd to celebrate my birthday/graduation. It was nice to see everyone again. Then the following week it was mom's birthday so we had another big party and sent her on a scavenger hunt. Ok, for the bad news: my lifeguarding job has partially fell through. My boss will not certify me until the 24th-28th. Then I can't work until the next pay period which is July 8th. Plus, Jon is coming on the 29th of June and will be here for 2 weeks. We plan to go to Disneyland on that weekend so it will essentially be mid-July by the time I begin. Ouch..that is really going to hurt my bank account! My sister is also moving down to LA to be with her fiancee. She is moving down on the weekend of the 8th of July when we all go to Disneyland. She is just going to stay there after that. That means this house is very cramped, messy, and annoying! I have a lot more free time too since I'm only working say, 20 hours a week instead of 40 like I should be. So alas, things aren't the best. :( I'm just taking it easy, being lazy while I can, and looking forward to Jon's arrival. Oh, and watching World Cup too. It seems like no one here watches it. Oh well, I am following it and watching the games when they're on at a decent hour. Can't believe USA made it this far..good for them...and go England!

May, 2002

May has been absolutely non-stop for me! I have been balancing work at Blockbuster, school, and anything else that is thrown my way. I am also deciding what to do with my life. I have an increasing interest in Art HIstory and may want to pursue that as my career. I have been accepted to Bristol and will study it next year, at least earning a minor. If I like it, I may continue on doing all that good stuff up in graduate school. If not, I will continue on with Communications as normal and figure out what to do with that. It's only life, right? My sister had her engagement party on the 11th. Evrything for the wedding seems to be coming together. It is September 1st now so it is coming up! I will leave a week or so after the wedding for England. Jonathan and I are planning a trip to Paris. We are trying to do it as cheaply as possible..which is not easy! My birthday is also on the 26th which is getting overshadowed by everything else. Yes, I will be 20. Big whoop! I consider myself practically 20 already anyway. I will have graduation as well from Delta. I have earned my AA (2-year degree) and I'm ready to move on. Graduation is on the 30th. I am also getting my certifications in order for lifeguarding in the summer. That begins on Memorial day. Plus, my job at Blockbuster will soon be ending. I mean, for $2 more an hour, better work environment, and full time hours doing lifeguarding I have to say buh-bye Blockbuster! No ill feelings, just movin' on! So as you can see, I am going through a very temporary phase in life. It'll all change soon.

March, 2002

March (if I can remember) was another busy month. The first two weeks I continued to work hard with my studies and at Blockbuster but I was mainly awaiting Jonathan’s arrival. He arrived on the evening of the 21st. I had to go to the airport in Sacramento to pick him up. There he was in a lust new shirt with the English flag on it. Of course I had to sneak up on him for a surprise hello! He went to college with me the following day which was interesting because he got to see what I go through 4 times a week! Then it was soon off to Palm Springs for a long weekend. I did enjoy being able to show him the place. I have gone down there at least once a year for every year of my life. We had a nice dinner (as a late Valentine’s), swam in the pool, did some shopping, and just enjoyed the nice environment AND the 8 hour drive down and back! We have a lot more to add to our joint website now (that no one’s been reading!) Then we spent the rest of the week hanging out, hooking up with friends, watching films, and doing things we’ve been trying to do for the past 2 months. He had to leave on the 2nd of April and it was another tough good bye for me. I know I’ll see him again and that I’ll be fine but my emotions get the best of me when that time comes. The more I try to resist it, the more the waterworks go! So ends that…April seems to be a boring month ahead.

February, 2002

Ah yes, another month is passing by. It's a maintenance month I suppose. I'm juggling work and school. That's about it! The President's Day week was sure great though because we got a whole week off from school. Plus, we get Spring break in a month's time...bargain I say! I have been busy getting my applications in for Bristol. It is very involved and I've barely begun the planning! Where will I live, what classes will I end up taking, and most importantly, how will I pay for this?? Valentine's Day was nice. Jon and I couldn't be together (there's something there between us--it's called the Atlantic Ocean!) but we certainly did make the most of it. Jon wrote me a wonderful email and sent me some nice cardS. We also had a nice chat on the phone. I even worked on that day--may as well, I didn't have anywhere to go! I did start on our joint website though. It is still in early stages but it has a lot of potential. I also sold my Mazda car. My parents bought another car so I now drive the family car and the Mazda had to go. I would have sold it anyway when I went abroad. I cannot wait for March when Jon gets here. We get to go to Palm Springs together! I can't imagine if we had to wait 5 months to see each other. The waiting is getting harder...

January, 2002

I rang in the New Year in England. Jon and I stayed down in Devon with the family. We played family games with the villagers then proceeded to the pub. Everyone was merry (if you know what I mean) and I became quite happy myself. It was very fun to ring in the new year in a different place. I did get rather smashed though and do try to remember how I felt so I don't drink so much! I rarely drink though..not here in the States. One, I'm too young (technically) and two, it's just such a different atmosphere. I can't wait to get to Britain for that reason! Anyway, we did have some good times together Jon and I, and got to see Beauty and the Beast Live and Phantom of the Opera amongst other things. I hated to say good bye to him on the 13th but he'll be here in March. Then it was back to work at Blockbuster, and also back to school! My classes this semester aren't too bad. It's my last semester before I transfer!
