Compulsary use of city terminal
to be enforced
Weekly Enformer. All passenger
buses servicing Naga City are now required to park, load and unload passengers
at the newly-constructed Integrated Bus Terminal along the Diversion Road.
This was stressed by city mayor
Sulpicio Roco, Jr. as he called on owners and operators of passenger buses
plying Naga City to avail of the modern facilities being offered at the
multi-million peso bus terminal within the city's new central business
district along the Diversion Road.
Roco said he has signed into
law a new city ordinance which requires all passenger buses to converge
at the new bus terminal for loading and unloading of their passengers and
cargoes.
Roco said that bus owners and
operators who ignore this new city ordinance will be penalized and fined
accordingly. He also indicated that he has instructed the city police to
intercept buses which do not use the new bus terminal and impose the corresponding
penalties.
The Mayor also indicated that
Integrated Bus terminal is another step towards better transport management
in an urban area and its use by bus operators as a central passenger terminal
will not only provide a more systematic and orderly movement but will eventually
result in a better flow at the downtown area.
