December 9, 2001 - Sunday
Did you ever have a perfect day? Me neither, but this one came darn close.
Fumihiko and I slept in very, very late, except poor Fumihiko had a phone call at
8:00am from his sister, asking to borrow his jack. He got up and gave it to her,
which proves that he's a much nicer person than me. I told him I'd give her a lecture
on calling newlyweds on their one and only day off together. Anyhow, he came back to bed
after he talked to her.
When we finally did get up, we went shopping. We went to a 100 yen shop to buy some
stuff for my school, and some wrapping paper, and some decorations. We wanted to
get something to drink so I remembered a cake shop near a supermarket, so we planned
to go there. However, when we got there we found it was just that, a cake shop, not a
place to eat cake. But, the grocery store next door had a little cafeteria style
place so we went there and had something to drink.
After we did that Fumihiko wanted to drive to the ocean. He did, and it was nice.
I was listening and singing along with a country cd that was playing, which was
also fun. On the way, he announced that he was going to buy a Christmas tree. That
was fine by me, as I'd wanted one for ages.
We went to Musashi, and I picked one out, plus a few more decorations. I bought the
tree...it is my culture after all, and we brought it home and set it up. I had been
a bit worried that Fumihiko's Mum wouldn't approve, especially as we set it up next
to the Buhsidan...or Buddhist Shrine in the house, but she was fine with it.
Fumihiko helped me decorate the tree and the things that I bought at the 100 yen shop
look great, as do the more expensive things that I bought. With the tree lights on
it just looks so nice! It's my first Christmas tree in five years and it makes me
long for my box of decorations that my friends made for me.
In the evening we watched some TV, a really dumb and stupid Arnie movie...Jingle All
the Way. I do not recommend it. Fumihiko made some popcorn, and he put butter on
it. Yum. He had to make more!
Now, he's off taking his bath and I'm upstairs writing my daily entry. Today was
a very very nice day. I wish all Sundays were like this one.
Tomorrow I have a busy day planned. I hope I get to do what I want to do. I really
do hope!
Bye bye.
