August 9, 2004 - Monday

Sunny and hot.

A good day, both yesterday and today. Yesterday, I finished my book before I left the apartment, then caught a train to Niigata. I was lucky and got a seat on the train. I met a woman from my woman's group. We spent a few hours together and had a nice time.

I came back just about in time to see the fireworks. Fumihiko met me at the train station and then we biked over to the riverside. Sadly, my bike pedal gave me major trouble and I had to walk a lot of the way. Not just because it was crowded, but because it was really hard to bike! We went to Sakata for dinner and came home early in the morning.

This morning we had lunch at Cocos and went to NTT to make arrangements to move my ADSL to the apartment. Hurray. Starting next week, it will be done! We drove out to the swimming pool, but it looked really busy and I wasn't feeling too well by then, so I said I didn't want to go anymore. I think Fumihiko was a touch angry, but he didn't say so. We went back to the apartment and had a little relax time. He put on a dvd I borrowed from a friend, Fawlty Towers. That show is almost 30 years old! It's still incredibly funny though.

In the evening we went to the nice French Restaurant in Mikawa. We had a lovely meal of pigeon! Seriously, our whole meal was great. We had pumpkin soup, chilled pumpkin soup. It was yummy. I really enjoyed it. I skipped dessert of course, but I really enjoyed the meal anyway.

We went by the apartment to try to fix my bike. We couldn't, so I'll take Fumihiko's tomorrow. I hope it's not too different from mine!

I watched ER tonight, the first time in 3? 4? weeks, and enjoyed it. I'll go to bed fairly soon, I'm a bit tired. Back to work tomorrow. Sigh!

Night night.
