December 14, 2004 - Tuesday
Clear and warm, lovely day.
A pretty good day. I overslept a bit this morning but still managed to get everything done before work.
I wasn't that busy at work, but I was busier than I was on Saturday! That wasn't hard to be though. Today, my first 4 classes came, but my last one didn't. The student didn't call either, that was sad.
I called Fumihiko as soon as I was done and we went out to Coco's for dinner. We had an okay dinner but there were some interesting things going on near the restaurant. The first thing was that there were two police cars and they were investigating something. Fumihiko said that they were probably checking out an accident scene. I don't know if there was an accident there today, but there could have been one I suppose.
The other thing was a guy in the restaurant. He was dressed in very stange clothes. When he got up to go to the drink bar he was wearing leather pants and he had a tail sticking out from under his shirt. I don't know if the tail was coming out of the pants or not. It looked like an animal's tail! A couple of years ago a J-Pop singer started that style but it was generally for young teenage girls. I've never seen a middle aged man wearing it. It was very interesting!
In a related story today, my child student came to class and she was wearing a top and a pair of pants that must have come straight out of the sixties! She had on bell bottoms with an extra flair at the bottom and a frilly hot pink striped shirt. The effect was a bit psychedelic, but considering that she's five, kind of cute. (Or that she'd dressed herself. I have a niece, I know how stubborn kids can be.)
I was a model of conservatism today though. I wore a plain white shirt with my black pinstripe suit. I noticed when I was at work that there was a small stain on my shirt so I had to wear my jacket all day to cover it! ha ha.
When we got home today we found 2 lovely Christmas cards waiting for us. Hurray. I got one from my dad's cousin Dorothy, and one from my ex-coworker and friend, Kim. Yay!
We still don't have snow. It's hard to feel Christmassy without snow. Not impossible though!
Gotta go, talk to you later. Night!
