Rainy and cloudy and so humid.
A different day, really. I slept in a bit this morning, it was wonderful. When we got up Fumihiko made some coffee and then offered to take me to Sakata to the Hotel Rich for lunch. Yum. Sadly though, when we got there, they were having a Tropical Fruit Buffet, so we went somewhere else. We ended up going to a new place for yakiniku. It was really nice, even though outside the restaurant they had the most awful katakana English. It was something like "It can hang down and it can eat."
After lunch, Fumihiko went to get his eyes checked. He has to get new glasses. He's using his old frames, with new lenses. There were some beautiful frames there, but I saw one pair that was more than 120, 000 yen. Yikes. That's more than a thousand dollars, just for frames.
We went to Hard Off and looked around. I ended up buying some pans, which I needed. Right now I have about 3 fry pans and a pasta pot! We went to a place near Hard Off then called La Casa. It was very nice. They had lots of kitchen stuff, just not the kind that I wanted. I only bought some soap, but it's gorgeous. We had some coffee there too. Then, we went to another store and looked around. Fumihiko found a lovely table with four chairs. It looked perfect for us, until we discovered that the 4 chairs didn't match. Oh dear. They were the same type of chair, just 2 were dark wood and 2 were light wood. We'll keep looking. On the good side though, we did get a kitchen rack for me. Hurray. I'm just going to have to wait to get it set up though.
We came back to the new apartment, dropped off the stuff, then Fumihiko took me back to my apartment. He tried to fix my bike, but of course he couldn't because he didn't have enough time or the right tools. I've only been asking him to work on it for the last 3 weeks. Sigh. Still, he tried so I guess I should give him credit for that.
He left me at the old apartment, he's off at a party now. I hope he's having fun. I finished my book, a "lost" manuscript by Lousia May Alcott. It was pretty good. Then, I got to work. I ended up cleaning out the tatami room, and I even vacuumed it. I left just a bit after 9 and went to the grocery store. I got a few things for dinner and then I came to the new apartment.
I popped in a video, The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez. It's okay. When it came out I was in the midst of my own wedding drama and I just couldn't deal with seeing a movie about weddings. Yuck.
It's almost midnight and my hubby still isn't home. Hmm. I wonder where he is! He has to work tomorrow. I hope he remembers that little fact.
Anyway, that was my day. It was okay. Not great, not awful. Gotta go, night night!
