January 3, 2005 - Monday

Warm and clear.

An interesting day. We slept in very late. Don't hate us, it's the last time that we can! We got up finally, had coffee and then went off to have lunch. We went to the Daiichi Hotel for their buffet. It was okay. Fumihiko liked it a lot. After lunch we looked at some furniture, then some dvds (me) and books (Fumihiko). He dropped me off at my school after that. He took his mother shopping. Now that the weather is a bit colder, it's harder for her to get out.

I checked the mail, then went shopping in Jusco. First I checked out the ladies fashion section. I tried on a couple of things but even though they fitted okay, I didn't like them enough to buy them. If they were cheaper, maybe I'd have bought them, but.... I headed up to the third floor then and had a look at the beadwork Christmas tree ornament craft kits. They were selling them off so I picked up 4 kits and bought them. Yes, I know that Christmas is over, but I enjoy doing crafts so I hope I can make some of them during the year. They make nice toppings for gifts too.

I looked around the store. It's very sad, but it's closing too. There's been a Jusco there ever since I came to Japan and it's going to close. They are selling many things right now. I feel bad for many of the employees. I hope they can find jobs in other places.

Fumihiko picked me up and we went to Mr. Donuts for coffee. Then we drove around and decided that he should get kerosene. Unfortunately, when we got to the gas station, it was closed. So were the other three that we tried. Yikes. We do have a full tank in the heater so it'll be okay tomorrow.

We decided to go for dinner to the Korean restaurant that we go to, but there was no parking. So I suggested parking at City Hall and then walking back. We did that, but when we got to the restaurant, it was full! Absolutely packed. Instead, we went to a yakitori restaurant, and it was great. We had tofu, and four kinds of yakitori. It was delicious and best of all, cheap!

We came home after that and Fumihiko took his bath, then I finally fed him some soup. He said that he liked it, and in fact had two bowls of it, so I guess he did! We're just chilling out now. I just prepared a page of photos from my trip to Hong Kong, it's here if you'd like to look. I've never used this software before, it's PhotoPage1.5. It seems quite easy to use, but we'll see if it really works or not.

And that's my day. I have one more day of freedom before I have to go back to work. Wish me luck!

Gotta go. Night night.
