Rainy, with some thundershowers.
Today was okay. I went to bed last night, early for me, and slept in very late. I guess I needed that extra sleep. I felt much better when I got up.
Fumihiko and I had a light lunch at McDonalds, then did a bit of errand running. I picked up some things I needed for my nengajo for kids, and then he dropped me off at S-Mall. I went shopping for Christmas munchies. I got some cheeses and some crackers...a few things that maybe I shouldn't have.
We came home and worked on our computers for a bit, then got dressed. I even curled my hair. Fumihiko wore a nice shirt and jacket while I wore a dress. We both looked pretty spiffy.
We drove to the Daiichi Hotel where hubby was nice enough to let me out before parking the car. We were really early for dinner, so we decided to check out the mall again. We didn't buy anything, and came back for our dinner. I felt a bit sad for the restaurant. It was almost deserted. They had set up our table near the window with a candle on it. It looked very nice. We had a great meal. It started with quiche, then we had duck and clams with salad. After that we had Suzuki in a lovely sauce. Our main course was lamb roti. Honestly, we weren't crazy about it. It was a bit too tough, and the lamb smelt a bit more than I'm used to. Still, it was our own choice, we just didn't know. For dessert there was chocolate fondant with ice cream with a pear sauce. It was wonderful. I hadn't planned to eat it, but I did. We also had coffee with it. I think it was sumiyaki coffee. We had quite a nice time. The manager of the restaurant apologized to us at one point because we had to wait a couple of minutes between courses. He said they weren't used to serving courses anymore since they usually do buffet meals there! I really enjoyed my dinner, and I think hubby liked his too. I paid, and the manager comped our oolong teas so that was nice.
I had made a deal with Fumihiko that I would pay for tonight's dinner. He is paying for tomorrow night's visit to a ryokan. I thought it was too much and I offered to pay for my share of the ryokan. He wouldn't accept that, but would accept me paying for the dinner.
We came home and spent time on our computers. Finally Fumihiko wrote a few nengajo, and then I wrote mine. I think I'm done, but I'm not sure! I have to make the ones for my kid students, but as I have to use my noisy embossing heater for them I'll wait until morning. Hubby is being a dear and writing the addresses on my cards for me. I can't write kanji. I'll have to write the return address on them though.
And that's my day. It was pretty good!
I won't be posting on Christmas Eve, so don't miss me. I'll be living it up at a ryokan!
Night night! And, of course, Merry Christmas!
