Warm and sunny.
I had a busy and fairly productive day today. Yeah!
Last night before bed I took some of Fumihiko's liquid cough medicine. The cold pills I'd been taking left me really groggy in the morning and I didn't want that today. My Saturday starts quite early.
I got up easily today and showered. I cooked breakfast, then ate it. I've been making omelettes recently with cream cheese slices and they are yummy. Instead of whatever plastic cheese they are usually made out of, this tastes like cream cheese.
My two classes went well today. The first one was especially good. The second one was a bit difficult, but I think the kids will get it eventually. Between the classes I did something that was good for me and my students. I taped the songs from the two children's textbooks onto separate tapes. Often the text will tell me to play song X from the previous unit, but with my tape player, it's hard to cue quickly. This way I can have one tape set up for the class conversations and one for the songs. I haven't recorded all of the songs, I figure I'll do that as I go along.
After my second class I changed and biked off to the drug store to get a few snacks for my visitors and then to Gusto for a quick lunch. I had hamburg--mushroom hamburg. It was pretty good. Fumihiko phoned me while I was in the restaurant and said he was done work. He met me back at the school.
Our visitors arrived right on time and our visit went very well. In fact, it looks like I have a new student. Yay! I really like this little guy and I missed him when he finished at my old eikaiwa.
Fumihiko and I went off to have dinner after our meeting and we decided on Jiro. It was good tonight, as usual. I had chicken and Fumihiko had the same thing as the guy at the next table, hamburg pilaf. It did look good, but I had already had hamburg today. We made a quick stop at the grocery store on the way home.
At home we checked email and such, then decided to watch a film. Tonight it was my pick. Fumihiko wanted to watch a comedy, so I picked Benny & Joon. It's not a straight comedy, but I know how much Fumihiko likes Johnny Depp and he's very good in this one. What a cast! Johnny Depp, Mary Stuart Masterson, Aiden Quinn, Julianne Moore, Oliver Platt, William H. Macy, C.C.H. Pounder...this cast has some serious actors in it. However, Johnny Depp really does steal the show as the sweet and lovable Sam. His take on the Buster Keaton/Charlie Chaplin routines are priceless. It's not a family movie as one of the main characters has a mental illness, but it's a little fairytale like.
Now it's way after 2 in the am. Fumihiko is snoozing on the couch and I'm thinking that I really need to get myself off to sleep. I'm yawning away. I have no plans for tomorrow, other than I hope to get up close and personal with a certain Wolverine....if we can get over to the cinema to see X-Men that is!
Catch you later? Night!
