Warm and sunny.
Well we're back from Singapore, and we had a fabulous time! The weather was hot and it only rained once during the day when we were there, which is amazing.
There were many amazing things about our trip. One was that Fumihiko and I barely argued! Yeah. That was nice. Also, it was lovely being in a country where English was used - as a second language - by nearly everybody. It's amazing to me how well the Singaporeans get on with each other. There are at least four cultures in that small city/country, but people seem to work well with each other and value each other.
Singapore food was great. We didn't eat a lot of really authentic foods though, but we did have chicken satay a couple of times. I really liked that. The peanut sauce didn't seem to bother me.
What did we do? Well, we swam in the pool at 8 in the evening and the water was warm. Fumihiko swam in the sea in the daytime, but he didn't like that too much. We explored Sentosa Island, which is like an amusement park in a way, then trekked into downtown Singapore to visit Little India and Chinatown. While we were there, I had a Chinese "chop" made, a carving/stamp of my name with my name in kanji too. We also visited a Hindu Temple, which was pretty cool. On our last day there we visited the zoo and then took a Night Safari. It was just great. Our only complaint was the trip was too short!
Today in Narita it was hard to get up, but we did. We took the hotel's bus back to the airport and had lunch. After lunch we caught the bus back to Haneda. I slept most of the way!
When we got to Haneda Airport we checked in, then did a bit of window shopping and had late lunch. We went to my favourite place in the airport to eat, West Park Cafe. It's an American style cafe, with great food. We had caesar salad, chicken wings and Fumihiko had onion rings too.
Even though we went through security early, we were almost late for our plane. I went to the washroom and while I was in there they called the final boarding. Argh! Luckily, Fumihiko was there to tell them I was coming!
This evening we came home, unpacked, and relaxed. We had dinner at M's Dining, then bought groceries for the next couple of days.
I'm back to work tomorrow. Poor me! Fumihiko has tomorrow off, so he can relax for one more day, but he has to work on Sunday, poor thing.
And that was our holiday. It was great, and we'd both like to go back to Singapore someday.
Night night!
