November 24, 2007 - Saturday

Cool and rainy, then clearing.

A pretty good day. Last night before I went to bed I didn't turn down the heater in the room. That was too bad as the room was really hot. I didn't sleep all that well. I did sleep though. Yay.

In the morning we went for breakfast at the hotel. Again it was adequate, but really, nothing special. I honestly didn't think it was that good. At least they didn't serve us natto!

When we went back to the room I took a shower and then made an unpleasant discovery. The garbage in the bathroom was full, and it was from another hotel guest. Yuck. Fumihiko filled out an ankete for the hotel and was really honest about the faults that we found...and there were quite a few. I think it might become better when the staff is more experienced.

We drove back to Tsuruoka from the hotel and came home for a bit. I wanted to watch Criminal Minds. I know, 10 in the morning and I want to watch a show about murder and mayhem. That's me. After that we went out for a second breakfast! We went to Tsukia, the gyudon shop. They have their diet-don again, so I had that.

I went to the school after that and got quite busy. I had two children's classes today and they both went really well. I was quite pleased with them. We did a couple of new games in the second class and they worked well. Yay! After class, I did a lot of prep for Tuesday. I will have three classes in a row on Tuesday, so I need to be ready to go. After I was prepared, I called Fumihiko.

We drove out to the mall. We first went to the 100 yen shop out there. I was thinking about getting a small Christmas tree there, but I didn't like what was on offer. Then, we looked in Nitori, an interior design store. They had the perfect tree, but not in the size I wanted. Then, we drove back to the mall and had dinner. Shabu-shabu was on offer again, so we had that. Fumihiko is a fast eater and I'm not, so he has a habit of putting a lot of meat in the broth for me, but I'm not ready for it. By the time I take it out, it's tough. So, about halfway through the meal tonight I grabbed a tray of meat for myself and asked him to stop giving it out to me. It worked much better then! I really don't want to eat as much or as quickly as he does.

After dinner we walked to Jusco and I looked for receipt books for my school. I'm nearly finished the first one. I asked Fumihiko what would be the best one to use. He didn't know. Umm...I have an excuse, I can't read the writing on the darn thing, but YOU can. I finally decided on one. Then, we went over to the Christmas decorations, detouring through the craft section because I like crafts. I ended up buying a small tree for my school. It had mini-lights already on it...the fiber optic ones, so I don't have to buy treelights, and has some decorations already. I'll probably add a few of my own. It's not like I don't have enough. Or, I'll give my students a Christmas project to make a tree ornament. That's always fun!

We walked back to the car, and drove back to Tsuruoka. We visited the drugstore briefly and then came home.

At home we relaxed and watched a lot of TV! We watched Ugly Betty from this week, then CSI: Miami and then Cold Case. We taped Grey's Anatomy for another time.

So, that was that. My day. It was pretty good, but I've got a huge headache and it's really late. So, I'm off to bed now. Night night!
