Chapter 6

Text Box: Mij glanced at his watch, it’s already 9pm. He had been sitting in the beach for more than 3 hours! How time flies! Mij was very disappointed and depressing. He sat on the big rock there throwing stones. The more he thought of that incident the harder he threw, trying to vent all his angers on the stones. Suddenly there’s a tap on his shoulder. "Leave me alone Zen… I’ll be back soon." Though the hand had already left his shoulder, he could still feel there’s a person standing there. "Told you to leave me, didn’t you hear me?" he sounded a bit frustrated. Finally, he got up from where he was and turned to Zenial, "didn’t I…" he was taken aback. "C…yin. What are you doing here?" asked puzzled Mij. "I was sorry about just now being harsh to you and…"before Cyin could finish her sentence, Mij cut in "Actually I was the one in wrong, I shouldn’t beat Jon up, I should…" Cyin didn’t wait for him to finish, she just completes her sentence, "and next time mind your own business please." And off she goes. "Eh…" nothing came out of Mij’s mouth. Her toneless words hung over his mouth. "‘Mind your own business’… I was just being caring…" he mumbled to himself.
Suddenly the skies turned dark and it began to shower. There’s no shelter nearby. Mij quickly took off his shirt and ran to Cyin to cover over her. Cyin was not hurrying to look for a shelter. She was taking her time walking back to the U, which was just a distance away. Mij dunno why but he didn’t ask; he just sheltered her silently.
Cyin’s eyes had already welled up with tears. Memories gushed down like a flood into her. Everything seems so familiar, everything seems to have come back alive, everything…
It was a raining day and too, a Valentine Day. Couples can be seen everywhere. But there, a lonely girl who had forgotten to bring her umbrella was rushing through the rain. Suddenly, there’s a shirt over that girl, and she was so shocked to know that it was him. Both of them were under the showers that god granted, under that white shirt that smelled of lemon. The rain was getting heavier but neither was moving fast. The haze of the rain fogged their atmosphere and the world seems to belong to only the two of them. Neither of them spoke, both enjoy the moment under the rain, with soft tapping of raindrops on their shoulders and heads, and all over their bodies…
When they reached the U, Mij brought the shirt down and took off his tee shirt. He squeezed out the water from both his shirt and tee. However, before he knew, Cyin was already far in front of him…
“Ah……….CHOOOO!”
“Oh my God, are you okay brother? I don’t wanna get infected ya noe? There, tissue for you” offered Zenial as he bends down to pick up all the rubbish his friend had created. “With you throwing all these used tissues everywhere on the ground; I bet I’ll get it from you soon or later. Haiz.” Zenial sighed, throwing the tissues into the bin. “Oh…Sorry Zen, I’ll throw it to the bin nex…AH CHOO! …next time.” Mij rubbed his nose with the tissue until the nose had reddened. “See? Wanna be hero huh? Now you’re all sick! Haha!” Zenial mocked him as he went to make him a cup of hot coffee. “Ouh… My immune system is really bad. I wonder how’s Cyin…” he pondered as he refreshed back what had happened just now.
Mij saw Cyin crying. He wished he could lend him his shoulders but she just scolded him for not minding his own business, so… what can he do? Why does she have to be so hostile to him? Mij had seen Cyin crying more than once. He wondered: Is there a tragic story all behind this?
