Chapter 9

Text Box: "HEY Cyin!!!" greeted Mij when he saw Cyin while he was doing his jogging in the park. She smiled weakly then turned for another direction. Mij jogged after her. "Hey, are you okay after that day’s rain?" trying to jog slowly to cool himself down. "Yea. Ouch!" A biker rode past them, "My bracelet!" Cyin shouted upon realized that her bracelet was taken. Without hesitation, Mij ran after the biker. He was trying very hard but the biker got faster and faster. Cyin was behind the both of them, shouting after Mij to stop. But Mij didn’t hear it so he continues until that biker was stopped by a patrol police in the park.
Mij snatched the bracelet back from the biker’s hand and told the police to drop this matter since the bracelet was back when he found out that that biker was just doing all these for the sake of fun. The crowd that had gathered for the ‘show’ dispersed gradually. Mij look at the bracelet held in his hand, it was decorated with blue crystal hearts. "So that girl Jon was talking about is…" At this moment, he saw Cyin running towards him. "…is Cyin…" Mij completes it.
He ran to meet her. She stopped, grasping for air. Mij held the tip of the bracelet in the air. "Ta da! I’ve got it back" he smiled. The tears had came to Cyin’s eyes. They are like small wells overflowing onto her cheeks. "You know, you’re so lucky. Thanks a lot" She managed to say it and smiled at him. It was the first time Mij had ever seen her smile, it was so angelic…
They were both sitting on the rock Mij sat that time when he was angry. "Mind I ask you something Cyin?" "Yea, sure" she replied with a throw of a stone. "What do you mean just now that I was lucky?" Mij asked, wanting to clear his doubts. "You know you and my boyfriend did alike things? Like that time you sheltered me in the rain, my boy did that too, and that’s how we got together. Just now… you helped me to get back my bracelet, he did too. But he was gone forever…" and she threw another stone, harder than the first one. "He’s dead…you mean?" Mij realized how stupid he can get when he asked that question. "That bracelet was my 16th birthday present from him. On one particular day, my bracelet was snatched by a robber. He went chasing without any delay. In the end he got it but on the way back he met with an accident…" Cyin hugged both of her knees close to her chest and place her chin on it.
She was trying to catch up with him as he went to chase the robber that had robbed off her beloved bracelet. Finally he had snatched back the bracelet for her. Both were just a road across. He was smiling at her, holding the bracelet up and swing it gently beside his face. She returned her smile to him. After that he ran across the street, with that bracelet held tightly in his palms, he wanted to cross that road fast, so that they can be reunited. "NO!!!" came from the girl. He was there, lying dead. She rushed over to his side. That guy neither speaks nor groaning in pains. He just placed his fist inside that girl’s palm. With all his might, he managed to say, "I had it back…" he smiled weakly, and his voice trailed off, in unison that his hand fallen from the girl’s hand…

Cyin closed her eyes, with tears rolling off, and then buried her face inside her knees. Mij, not noticing of this, just laid flat on the rock with his hands behind his head. Neither of them spoke. Sun was setting. Its golden rays were embracing the two with its warmth…
