...the fire that burns brightest...

Being a list of objects and ideas the heroes have obtained in their journeys:

all objects with a ? means it is unidentified...

Devil Tongue
This is obviously a baatezu's sick joke. It looks like a 15' long tongue, with a clumpy end.
In either case, the wielder can use it as a weapon by swallowing the tongue, but not only does she have to cut it out to remove it, she can taste her target.

Avoid anything that drips poison.

(As Frog's Tongue spell from Rituals and Relics.
User cannot cast spells or speak.
Cannot remove the Tongue without cutting it out. User takes D3 damage.
One in 20 chance each time a character swallows it that it becomes permanent.)

Fillias' Spirit
Whether or not this battle axe is the spirit or soul of Fillias, the silver hound archon, is a matter of conjecture.

Very few archons have the talent or knowledge to transform themselves into a weapon. Many do not wish to place themselves in the hands of mortals, who have questionable morals and ethics. However, this is ancient and not forbidden knowledge, and occasionally some archons, usually middle archons, take the effort to learn this skill.

Fillias’ Spirit resembles a battle axe, of a pure silver metal. It is originally a +1 weapon, with Holy and Lawful attributes. However, time and moral degradation has weakened the weapon. It has lost it’s +1 attribute, as well as its Holy attribute, although the wielder still gains a +1 masterwork bonus.

It is obvious that time will continue to degrade Fillias’ Spirit.

Odineye
This weapon has runes carved into the blades of the axe. The handle is made of a sturdy, but gnarled, oaken wood. It has the many scars and burns of battle. The Ysgardian weaponsmith, Vinn Earthwalk, took out his own eye to gain knowledge and wisdom from Odin. In exchange, he obtained the knowledge to forge these weapons.

Odineye is a +1 weapon. For Chaotics, it also grants a +2 insight bonus to all Spellcraft and Knowledge checks.

Mechanus Calculator
A mad tinker gnome named Gweninillantoreanduchenpallas fashioned this machine to predict the changes in Mechanus. However, it did not work until she removed it from the plane (Mechanus does not change.)

Supposedly, someone with strong mathematical skills can predict when the clock will present a divination.

the Sacrifice of the First Outsider
This queue is a ponytail of hair, bound up in leather cord. Time and weather has dried and shrunk the hair and turned what was black hair into a faint red.

Supposedly, this queue belonged to the First Disciple of the Order of Flame, who sought out the Temple back when Gehenna was separated from the multiverse. Lore speaks of how the disciple wandered the Fourfold Furnace for years, gaining in wisdom what he lost in body.

(The queue acts as a charm. If a character carries it on his person, he gains a +2 Wisdom modifier, but also a –2 Constitution penalty. Upon removal of the item, all stats return as normal by a point per day.)

the Mind of the Most Mendicant
This bowl is actually made from the skull of a monk. It has been polished and burnt for so long that it looks like wood.

It is said that this monk was so dedicated to the Order of Flame that she sat amongst the flames of Gehenna all her life, eating nothing but bread and rice from this very alms bowl. Her eventual enlightenment was her only reward.

Those who eat from the bowl gain similar protection from the elements, but suffers from the hunger she felt.

(If the character eats from this bowl for the day, she gains Endure Elements from one element, but takes d3 damage that can only be healed by rest.)

the One-Legged Monk
This bone knife, bound by leather cord, has a wooden handle.

This monk cut off his own leg, for whatever purposes, but kept the femur and fashioned a bone knife from it. It is said that the monk was in good humor during this time, and named the knife himself.

(Dagger +1. Lawfuls gain the benefit of the Bless spell if they wield this item. This weapon is +2 on Gehenna.)

Long Short Word
Closed, this item looks like a dull copper metal tube. It snaps open into a flat cross.
Written on the five squares is a form of Ancient Baatorian, a complicated mathematical and metaphorical language.
So far, what you can discern from the script is that the four squares in the "arms" of the cross each contains a spell, that can be cast, or saved until the user deciphers the center square.
The center square, supplements the rest of the squares, such that a larger spell can be learned and cast.
Minion's Sickle
This beat-up ugly sickle is one of the many clever orc weapons mass-produced on Acheron by the Cracked Cube Squadron.

(+1 sickle. If the user trades 2 hit points, she can inflict one point of negative energy damage, up to her character level. It is also -2 to Will Saves, and -2 to saves versus Charm.)

Ring of Featherfall
a small plain bronze ring...
Tempus' Last Gift
On one side of this dull iron coin is the sigil of Tempus, on the other, a skull's head.

If the user places this in her mouth, and is down to 10 or less hit points, she can, as a free action, but only once per day, cast Aid on herself.

Bloody Fiend's Club
One of the many cheap weapons fashioned for the quivering hordes of the Lower Planes, this weapon punishes good luck...

a +1 Keen club, although if the weilder scores a Threat, she takes d4 damage...

Tempus' Glory
This shield has the symbol of Tempus emblazoned on the front.

The shield is enchanted so that if the wearer uses it as a weapon, she attacks as if she has Ambidexterity and the Two-weapon Feats.

This shield, however, has been desecrated with the blood of a priest of Tempus. To gain its magical effects, one must consecrate or otherwise purify it...

Decayed Leather Armor
Armor favored by the Doomguard tends to represent their beliefs. Held together by stitching and patches, this armor, nevertheless, still has magical enchantment.

+1 leather armor. If someone scores a critical against the wearer, the armor becomes useless...

Nightmare Blade
A greatsword with a glassy smoky blade.

A greatsword +2. If the target is struck, the target must make an Opposed Will check against the wielder. If failed, then the target is affected as if by a Cause Fear spell...
