1. Deployment of Prime BEEF III (SAC) Team to Tan Son Nhut Air Base from 19 October 1965 through 20 Fegruary 1966 provided timely engineering assistance to this base by constructing badly needed troop housing, latrines, operational and storage facilities. From the moment of the teams arrival until their departure the men of the team exceeded all expectations for construciton completions and set a remarkable record for the next "Prime BEEF" team to match.
2. During the 120 days the team was on base, they completed construction of 13 airmen barracks, 5 latrines with showers, and many miscellaneous facilities including warehouse space, flight operations buildings, and administrative buildings. Additionally, concrete floor slabs were placed for future erection of buildings by base organizations and the next Prime BEEF team. These urgently required facilities have had a material effect on morale of assigned personnel and have been a definite contribution to the Second Air Division mission.
3. The Strategic Air Command can be justly proud of its representatives for their outstanding work and the fact this team has helped turn a new corner in Air Force Civil Engineering practices.
4. It is a pleasure to inform you of my admiration and appreciation for the Team Chief, Captain Phillip Levy Jr., and all the members of this fine team (names attached) for their noteworth performance.
