The following are summaries of the comic book series of Pokemon.

Chapter 1 starts out with Ash finding a Pikachu chewing on the wires of his house. This Pikachu has been causing blackouts in Pallet Town, Ash's home town. After chasing Pikachu down, Ash finally grabs him. Ash plans to take Pikachu out to the woods and release him when he runs into Gary Oak who tells Ash to go get a Pokemon Trainer's license. Ash gets his trainer's lisense and begins his quest. But Pikachu won't do anything Ash says, making things very difficult for Ash. Ash then runs into Misty who immediately falls in love with Pikachu. Misty leaves and Pikachu tries to follow her, but he runs into a speaow and begins to get chased by a flock of spearow. Ash shows up and protects Pikachu. Ash begins to run away, stealing Misty's bike. Finally, Pikachu attacks a Fearow leading the spearow and Ash catches the Fearow in his Pokeball. At the beginning of Chapter 2, Ash has caught a Caterpie and a Pidgeotto in addition to the Pikachu and Fearow. Now Ash plans to beat Brock to get a Boulder Badge. Ash wins and gets his first badge. Now Caterpie evolves into Metapod. Ash moves on to the next city to get another badge. This is the city Misty is from and Ash has to beat Misty to get the badge. None of this Pokemon are willing to fight except Metapod who evolves into Butterfree. Ash then wins using Butterfree. In Chapter 3, Ash and Pikachu are searching for more Pokemon. Ash trades a Mankey he just caught for a map to the secret location of the Clefairy. They finally run into a Clefairy after trekking through the mountains. Ash chases the Clefairy into a cave where he runs into Prof Oak(!) who has been dressed as a Clefairy in order to study them. Bill shows up who is also studying the Clefairy. The Clefairy do an evolution dance to evolve and Ash, Prof Oak, and Bill watch. Afterwards, Ash gets a new update for his Pokedex from Prof Oak. Chapter 4 begins with Ash going to the Saffron City Gym and challenging Sabrina. After losing, Ash meets up with Brock again. That night a large Haunter attacks the city. It goes after Sabrina and she tells them to go to Lavender Town to stop it. Ash and a group of Pokemon trainers fight the Haunter but it uses self destruct and gets away. As Ash tries to catch it, it uses self destruction again and gets away for good. Chapter 1: The Human Race and the Pokemon Race Chapter 1 begins with Brock and Ash driving off to Fuchsia City to see a Pokemon Race. Once there, they meet up with Misty and her sisters. Misty and Ash go out and try to catch a Tauros, but it attacks them. They are saved by Ponyta. The Ponyta is owned by Lara, a top Pokemon breeder. She tells them about Dario, her main competition in the race. Lara is injured so Ash agrees to ride Ponyta in her place. The race begins and Dario pulls out ahead. Dario's friends attack the other racers and knock most of them out. Ash manages to stay in the race and attacks Dario back. Dario sends out Blastoises, Wartortles and Squirtles, but Pikachu takes care of them. One Blastoise attacks Ash's Ponyta but is evolves into a Rapidash. The Rapidash manages to win teh races, beating Dario. Chapter 2: To Evolve or Not to Evolve, That is the Question! Chapter 2 starts out with Ash, Misty and Brock heading to the Seafoam Islands. Once there they plan to buy some evolution stones. They don't have enough money, but a child with an Eevee gives misty a box with some. A woman tells them that the boy was from a secret society of people with only stone-evolving Pokemon. They are upset with the boy for not evolving his Eevee. Ash stands up for him and, to prove his worth, the boy and Ash must fight three trainers. First is Vaporeon, second is Flareon and third is Jolteon. Ash beats the first two and the boy with Eevee, with the Mimic TM, beats the third. Chapter 3: Pikachu's Excellent Adventure Chapter 3 begins with Misty meeting Duplica, a Ditto trainer. Ash, on the other hand, is looking for a secret village of rare Pokemon. Ash and Brock head out to find the secret village, but Pikachu gets side tracked. He begins to talk to a Squirtle. Evenutally, Pikachu, Squirtle, and a Charmander head off to find the secret village. Ash freaks out because he can't find Pikachu. Pikachu and his companions meet up with a Kangaskhan and a boy who can speak the Pokemon language. The Kangaskhan agrees to take them to the secret village. Pikachu and his companions meet up with Team Rocket who want the Pokemon in the secret village so they come along too. Once in the Pokemon secret village, Team Rocket makes their move, but are stopped by the Kangaskhan. Pikachu returns to Ash and everyone is happy. Chapter 4: You Gotta Have Friends Chapter 4 starts out with Pikachu fighting. He is exhausted. Nurse Joy tells Ash that he should take Pikachu for a vacation. Out in the forest, Ash and Pikachu meet up with a wild herd of Pikachu. After Pikachu saves the herd from a large Pinsir, he becomes a hero. Pikachu goes and plays with his new friends, much to Ash's dismay. Team Rocket tries to catch all of the Pikachu but Ash stops them. At the end, Pikachu comes back to Ash and they continue their journey. Chapter 1 starts out with Pikachu and Bulbasaur wandering through a town. They are told by an Ivysaur about the Guardian Spirit of the Venusaur Lord that lives at the top of a huge tree in town. Bulbasaur doesn't believe him so they go talk to some Venusaurs, but Bulbasaur still doesn't believe. Team Rocket wants to get teh Venusaur at the top of the tree. Ivysaur, Bulbasaur, and Pikachu go up the tree. At the top they see a bunch of branches shaped like a Venusaur. Team Rocket shows up, but they are defeated. Chapter 2 begins with a UFO landing and a small girl chasing after it. She sees many Clefairy coming out of it. In town, Prof Oak(!) meets up with Ash and they both meet Professor Orville. He thinks Clefairy came from space. Team Rocket goes to the little girl's house and take all the Clefairy. Prof Oak, Ash and his companions head off to find the Clefairy's hiding place after they get attacked. They Clefairy have been stealing pieces of trash for their spaceship. Ash stops Team Rocket from taking the Clefairy and they stay with the little girl. Chapter 3: Days of Gloom and Glory This Chapter begins with Ash being confirmed to be a participant in the Pokemon League because he has to gotten all eight badges. He runs into a girl with a lot of Glooms around her. Her mansion has sunken into the sea. Her servant is trying to retrieve some key items. Team Rocket is scavenging as well and Meowth has a memory about the place they are searching. The girl's servant saves Team Rocket from some Gyarados. One thing saved is a small female Meowth. She has memories of how she got to be in that pokeball. The girl's Glooms save the girl's servant from Team Rocket using Solar Beam. Afterwards, Ash heads off to the Pokemon League. Chapter 4: Welcome to the Big Leagues Chapter 4 starts out with Ash's Kingler beating a Golbat to win his first match in the Pokemon League competition. Ash meets up with another Pikachu trainer named Richie. Richie is winning, too. Ash tells Misty about his Charizard that won't obey him; his secret weapon. Ash and Richie win their second battles. Ash wins his third match using his Muk and Richie beats Gary in his third match. Chapter 5 starts out with Ash versus Richie. After their first two Pokemon get knocked out, they both agree to use their secret weapons: Charizards. Unfortunately, neither can control their Charizard. Ash's gets the upper hand, but it is about to kill Richie's, so Ash calls his Charizard back, losing the match. Ash is upset, but his friends encourage him. Chapter 6 starts with Ash getting registered for the Orange League competition. After being greeted by the locals, Ash misses his boat and is forced to walk. Along the beach he sees a Lapras being attacked by a group of Krabby. Pikachu convinces the saved Lapras to get into the pokeball so Ash can take it to the Pokecenter. Afterwards, the Lapras is scared of humans but Pikachu reasons with it and it trusts Ash. Now Ash has transportation. Chapter 1: Attack of the Demon Stomach At the beginning of Chapter 1, Ash is travelling on Lapras to the Pomelo Islands. Once there, he is attacked after trying to eat some of the fruit. He learns, and sees, that a Snorlax is eating all of the fruit harvest and they can't get rid of it. Ash plans to catch it in a Pokemon battle. Pikachu gets beaten and the Snorlax bounces off to another island. On the next island, Ash tries to put the Snorlax to sleep. After this fails, Ash looks for a singing Pokemon and happens upon a Jigglypuff. He squeezes the Jigglypuff and makes it sing and the Snorlax falls alseep. Ash throws his Pokeball and catches the Snorlax. Ash hops back onto his Lapras and heads off again. Chapter 1: A Glimpse of the Glow Chapter 1 begins with a group of children throwing their Pokeballs at a Nidorino. Red (Ash) shows up and uses his Poliwhirl to weaken the Nidorino and then catch it. Red is told about Prof Oak (!) and he goes off to meet him. Red wanders into the woods and sees another boy fighting a Pokemon Red has never seen before. It's a Mew and Team Rocket is after is too. The other boy is Blue (Gary) and he knows his Pokemon are not enough to get the Mew. Blue also stops Red from getting the Mew. Chapter 2: Bulbasaur Come Home! Chapter 2 begins with Red arriving at Prof Oak's (!) house. He picks up a Bulbasaur and Prof Oak comes in. He yells at Red, thinking he is a thief. All of Prof Oak's Pokemon get released. Red and Prof Oak gather most of them up, but the Bulbasaur has gotten away. They go looking for it. In Viridian City, they see it and follow it into an abandoned building. The Bulbasaur attacks Prof Oak and won't return to him. Red makes friends with the Bulbasaur but they are attacked by a wild Machoke. The Bulbasaur takes care of the Machoke, with Red's help and Prof Oak decides to give the Bulbasaur to Red. He also gives him a Pokedex. Chapter 3: The Secret of Kangaskhan Chapter 3 starts out with Blue attacking a Venomoth. Red arrives and Blue's Charmander takes down Red's Poliwhirl. Red gets mad, but a wild Kangaskhan attacks them. Blue tries to catch it, but it knocks the Pokeball away. Red realizes that the Kangaskhan's baby is poisoned and that's why it can't be caught. Red heals the baby and it leaves. Red and Blue talk for a while, then separate. Chapter 4 begins with Red arriving at Pewter City. He gets a flyer that says there is a Pikachu that is causing trouble in the town. Red attacks the Pikachu with Bulbasaur. Red catches the Pikachu and is congratulated by the townspeople. Red runs into Blue and he tells Red to go beat Brock to get a Boulder Badge. Chapter 5 begins with Red going to Brock's Gym. He watches a few other trainer get beaten, then he goes and beats the first trainers there who work for Brock. Then he uses Pikachu to beat Brock, since his other Pokemon are too tired. Now Red has a Boulder Badge! Chapter 6: Gyarados Splashes In! Chapter 6 begins with Misty fighting a Gyarados with her Staryu. Red shows up and uses Bulbasaur to beat the Gyarados. Misty takes it because it was already hers. Afterwards, Red calls Prof Oak to tell him he got the information for Gyarados. Red and Misty talk and they both head off together.
