And so we come to the final frontier, the inside of Red Falcon. Don't ask me how that last base wall led to the inside of a gigantic alien body, I don't know myself. At the start two football falcons fly to the right, the top is a machine gun and the bottom is a barrier.

This sub-boss would make a good design for a new pez dispenser. My strategy for him has changed slightly in the past few months. I used to stick to the left side and jump up and down firing at him while avoiding the shrimp-like enemies he spits out, but I picked up a much easier way from my sister, just walk into the wall while firing diagonally at him, the shrimp shouldn't get in your way too much, if they do just kill them.

Here we are introduced to the eyeball enemies, pesky little turret-like enemies that shoot out white balls with minds of thier own. These things plague level 8. Remember that it is almost imperitave to get the scatter gun just before the point in the second picture above.

We are advancing on the final platform. Shoot out the eyes along the bottom and the top. At this point the shrimp enemies will start attacking you. These shrimp enemies are different from the ones earlier in the level, but also look like shrimp. They move along the ground and sometimes rise up in a diagonal movement, they are very, very hard to get the hang of.

At last we find the very heart of Red Falcon, and the source of the shrimpies. Hit the heart diagonally as you're walking into it. 4 shrimp attack at once, it's chaotic. Jump back when this happens and kill as many of them as you can, try and avoid the rest. The scatter gun is suggested, of course. When they're gone, walk back up to the heart and repeat. As you hit it, it beats faster and faster until it explodes. BANG! Consider yourself a hero, having beaten the NES's finest game.

A helicopter rescues you as the island blows up.

The credits sequence features some of my favorite videogame music ever.

Japanese guys have lots of big words in thier names.

Let's do it all over again!
