These are important dates from the history of Doctor Who. To save space I have noted only the broadcast dates of the first episode of the story unless there is a notable occurance, i.e. companion leaving or a Doctor's regeneration, in a later episode. I have found these in books and calendars of all sorts and if you catch any errors or have any additions I would be happy to know about them.

SEPT 06: Episode 1 of Trial of a Time Lord airs. Though they were broadcast as one title the story is referred to as The Mysterious Planet. The series also returned to 25 minute episodes (1986)
***Episode 1 of Battlefield airs and Nicholas Courtney returns as Lethbridge Stewart and the first UNIT story since 1975's Android Invasion (1989)
SEPT 07: Sylvester McCoy makes his first appearance as the Doctor regenerates in Episode 1 of Time and the Rani. Colin Baker does not appear in this episode (1987)
