The Long and Short Leachas are both very under used routes to the summit plateau of Ben Alder in the Central Scottish Highlands. The long walk in from Dalwhinnie and rough boggy ground on the approach deter most hillwalkers who often take the more straightforward approaches to this remote Scottish hill. The effort though is well worth it with the stunning views of Loch Ericht opening up behind and the rewarding 360 degree panorama that greets you as you reach the summit plateau. The Short Leachas is apparently the easier of the two and although narrow is no more than an easy scramble
