The biggest wrench for me in moving to the US was losing access to the great Scottish Outdoors. To be able to come home from work on a Friday, throw some gear in a rucksack and head out into the clear, cool air of the Cairngorms - which were only about a 90 minute drive from home - was a wonderful way to relieve the stress.

OK, so the US has much bigger mountains  but the there is just something about the Scottish Outdoors that is unique, the magnificent light, the clear air, the crystal clear water that you can drink your fill from and never have to worry about infection, the changeable weather...I miss it all....I need to go back there soon.

The images below will give you some idea of the things I miss.
