Techno Album Reviews
These are reviews of every CD that I own that I
consider to be "techno". To learn more about the
definition of "techno music" go to the music
definitions page to read the definitions. All of
these reviews are from my own personal opinion and
opinions vary greatly. I will try to define the music
of the band I am reviewing to the best of my ability.
The bands contained on this review page fit the following
genres: synth-pop, ambient, electronica, big beat,
trip-hop and acid music. If you're looking for
industrial music reviews then go to
my industrial page for those reviews.
The bands listed below are in alphabetical order. To
skip directly to a band, just click on the letter of the
first letter of the band's name. Or, you can use the
teleportation button to go directly to a band's review.
I have completed the reviews of every band in the teleportation
button. I will give a general summary of the band's
music and if you click on the band name, it will take
you to a page where every album of thiers that I own
is indepthly reviewed. Any band with a (*) by it is a
Christian band.

Compilations and Various Artists
Ambient Theology*
Aphex Twin - Crazy and
talented techno artist who creates many types of electronic
music that ranges from ambient to trance to drum 'n bass.
Atomic Babies
Bjork - An odd female dance artist from Iceland. She
has been classified as industrial, alternative, and even
tribal. Whatever classification it is, it's great!
Cleen
DOCO
Dubtribe Sound System - Pretty much
upbeat elevator music. Most people would consider it
a tribal/house blend. Has some spoken word and some
of the beats have some head-bopping quality to them.
808 State
Erinfall* - A Christian dance/house band that isn't
really Christian because there are only samples and no
real preaching. Very great dance-floor material, though!
Fatboy Slim - A now-popular big beat/techno name with
some reggae thrown in to add to the dance beat. (My
favorite techno artist!)
Fluke
Frontside
Fun'Da'Mental - Politically
motivated British band with some hard beat dance songs
and a lot of tribal/jungle thrown in.
Future Sound of London - Trancy,
dancy, ambient kind of stuff. Don't think those go
together, then read about 'em!
Gearwhore - Hard-beat orientated
trance music.
Haddaway - Poppy house/dance music who made the popular
"What is Love" single as heard on the Saturday Night Live
sketch and the movie, "Night At the Roxbury".
Juno Reactor - One of the BEST trance/GOA bands around.
Kraftwelt
Lords of Acid - Dancy, almost tech-ish, band that
centers all of its CD covers and lyrics around sex!
Gimme some!
Lunatic Calm - British
electronic band that varies their style from drum and bass,
to almost industrial. Good stuff!
Moby - Ever-fluctuating electronica band that goes a lot
for ambience, dance, and sometimes rave. However, some
CDs are punk, some metal, and some spoken word.
Mortal* - A great trance/synth-pop band with a lot of
ambient influences. Not too preachy, but it lets you
know that it is Christian.
NeoTek
Orbital - A very original techno band. The music ranges
from atmospheric, to dance, to trance. You never know
what you're getting yourself into, but it's always good!
Paradigm Shift* - Chistian drum and
bass/trance band that is probably the best in the Christian
amibient industry!
Prodigy - Popular rave/dance band that likes to go
into trip-hop a lot.
Psychick Warriors ov Gaia - Ambient music with a tribal
feel to it.
Right Said Fred
Situation Taboo* - Tinny, low budget Christian band
that is pretty hard to hear but has a lot of potential.
Sneaker Pimps - Semi-popular drum and bass band that
steals a lot of beats and synth phrases from other
bands.
Sun God - Pure tribal beats with chanting.
Synaesthesia - Beautiful
ambient side project by Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber of
Front Line Assembly.
Trip* - The very best in Christian
drum and bass. Also, a very good drum and bass band
all around that I can't stop bopping my head to.
Underworld - Sometimes synth-pop, sometimes techno,
but always good. One of the "big boys" of techno music.
U-ZIQ
Virus* - New Age sounding Christian band that's pretty
repetative, but is very beautiful. Not too preachy
since there are no words.
White Town - Popular
synth-pop band with the hit single "Your Woman" with
a lot of dancy stuff.
Ambient Extractions - Self explanatory. Beat-orientated
ambience.
ElectraPop* - Also self explanatory. A Christian synth-pop
sampler from Eclectica and Flaming Fish Music.
Plastiq Musiq Sampler* - Christian techno/synthpop/ambient
sampler from Tooth and Nail Record's Plastiq Musiq sublabel.
Now, all I need to do is make pages, general descriptions,
and indepth reviews for all these CDs and I'm done!
