mary!

mary's my buddy whom i've known the longest, out of my friends that i currently do stuff with. she's super cool, ambidextrous (kinda a leftie!) and a virgo. she plays the violin and is cool for lots of reasons; keep reading to find out why:

we met in first grade. i don't remember when i first met her, but she claims it was out on the playground during recess, and when she asked if i wanted to play i (shyly) said yes. we were in different classes in both first and second, but so what? we still had recess and lunch and before school and after school...

i remember that for my eighth birthday i got a Samantha American Girl doll. mary had one too, as well as another of our friends. whenever we played, they were triplets.

in third grade, the gods smiled upon us and we were placed in the same class. not only the same class, but one where there were ten girls and only five boys. it was majorly cool. i remember one project that we did was to write a play. mary and i wrote one, based loosely on the twelve dancing princesses called the basketball princesses. (mary told karen that if i made a page about her, i'd bring up "that story," which i believe is this one. i mean, of *course* i would!)

also in third grade, our teacher took our class camping. this was an interesting experience: being carpooled out to some campground whilst reading sideways stories from wayside school, being kept at bay from the boys' adjacent campground by five little boys wielding (and spraying) cans of bug spray, and sneaking in their tent to hide rocks in their sleeping bags. ah, the memories...

let's see... fourth and fifth grades we were put into different classes, and i don't remember much from thenabouts. (i have a very strange selective memory. i mean, just look at the things i remember.)

ah, yes, sixth grade- mary was in a different homeroom than i, but she was also bussed to the other school as meg and i were. so we got to see each other at lunch, as well as our buddy (from third grade as well!) erin, who moved away later that year.

so how cruel was it that mary and i weren't placed in any of the same classes from third grade til ninth grade spanish II (with jasmine!) i remember we took this quiz once in spanish, and it turned out that, according to this, i was an angel. mary, of course, was a saint. (or at least, that's what she wants everyone to think.)

also in ninth grade, she had her first hour directly across from mine (and phoebe's) and so she would hang out 'round there ('long with meg and jasmine, and sometimes karen..) and we'd draw moose. (more on that later.)

ninth grade was the year that she started the list of why Sara's weird. It's very fun to remember instances that I'd forgotten about. Of course, she's had plenty of things to add since then.

then, tenth grade.. we had HISTORY together! same class as meg, and same teacher as jasmine. it was incredible fun, despite being stuck at other sides of the room. sigh.

this year, eleventh, we're in the same physics class as each other, although in the second semester she's ditching me to join karen's class, just so she can take some music class. god...

okay, so i said that i'd tell you about the moose. mary has a little obsession with moose. in fact, her whole family seems to have a slight preoccupation with the animal. but that's okay. but anyways, before school in ninth grade, i would delight in drawing moose for mary on the chalkboard, and then at times i would add a noose. from which came my ultimate mary-threat "nooses for mooses!" i'm quite proud of it. {: *a pathetic attempt at a smirk*
