Project Asssessment
As a team, BAC elected to redesign SSRE’s website and implement a new site. BAC had taken information off the existing web site, along with information from marketing material that was provided by Prudential. When the consulting team came together hashing over individual thoughts as to what was required on the site, we spent a great deal of time exploring other realtors sites. This process was invloved and time consuming. If BAC were to develop a new site in the future, less time would be spent reviewing competitor realtors sites.
Redesigning an existing web site was actually more difficult and time consuming than designing a new site from scratch. BAC had to review all the content that existed on the old site, confer with the client as to what information and features should be retained, and then it was necessary to decide how BAC wanted to implement changes to the site. In retrospect, the team agrees that it would have been a wiser strategy to design the site from scratch, and then implement some existing items from the old site if they enhanced the performance of the new site.
When developing the new site, we should have stopped before the implementation phase. The implementation phase consumed a great of time because we had to develop the questionnaire, perform the testing, and then analyze the test results. Due to the time constraints, it is BAC's opinion that this particular phase required more time than one week to be properly completed. The analyzing of the results should have been more detailed and a statistical analysis should have been performed in to support our claims. After the testing was completed, BAC did make several improvements based on test user comments. In the future when performing testing, it would be better for one person to handle the testing phase from start to finish versus having three people perform testing. It appears from the results that some questions were answered without reviewing the site, which causes the testing results to be skewed.
Team Assessment
The BAC Consulting, Inc. team was a great success. We worked diligently, smoothly, and effectively as a team. Everyone was contentious in working effectively as team players. When differences of opinion occurred, everyone performed in a respectful and professional manner. Timely communication via email was a highly effective means of accomplishing the tasks at hand, since we all had conflicting schedules which presented difficulties for us to meet as a group outside of the scheduled lecture hours.
