ARE WE DIFFERENT?

Hello, I am Lonnie Bond; I accepted Christ in 1990 at the age of 26, before that the only church experience I had was as a child in Sunday school up to the age of 8. I always felt that there was a God and always felt Him tugging at my heart. But I was so wrapped up in my life and the things I thought that were important. At one point the devil even convinced me there was no God and that’s when life got real bad, I was pretty much in the toilet of as far as the spirit goes.

I was listening to a song by Lynyrd Skynyrd called “Simple man”, and for some reason the lyrics “remember son there is someone up above” just convicted my heart and I finally turned back to God. From there I was on a spiritual roller coaster, struggling with the strong holds the devil had established in my mind and life. Eventually I stopped going to church and really backslid, suppressing the call of God in my heart and losing the battle in my mind, and was having the heck beat out of me. I had not made a true commitment to God and was not obeying His word; Still letting the devil control my thoughts.                             

Then so subtlety from the years of 2003 to 2005 God was working on my heart. Then in the month of October of 2005 (for no reason I can think of) I went back to church. At the end of the service the Pastor had all the head of households stand up. The Pastor prayed that God would open up our eyes to see what was going on in our homes. You guessed it God opened up my spiritual eyes and what I saw scared the heck out of me. I had a nightmare of people running all over my house and when my wife woke me up I had demons in my house that I had invited in by the way I was living my life. My wife and I prayed and rebuked them in Jesus name they left and went to my roof. We got up at 4:00 A.M. because I could not sleep. Rod Parsley was preaching; his message was “ what side of the line are you on?” From that point on God has really changed me; He has truly made me a new creature; the word has come alive to me and I finally have true peace in my life. I am so thankful for God’s mercy and grace. Praise God!
