Zero Biography

Personality
Zero is usually cold and serious in his job and nothing really gets to him . He is self-sacrificing when it comes to his friends, and he also has a strong sense of duty. Only Iris's death was able to cause him to lose it and question what he fights for.

History
Zero was created at some point in 20XX by Dr. Albert Wily. Like Megaman X, Zero was probably found accidently and awoken in 21XX, but no one really knows. Gamma and his Maverick Hunter unit found Zero in a lab-like cave where they were all killed by Zero. Sigma, the leader of the Maverick Hunters, fought with the violent and sadistic Zero who was very likely infected with the Maverick virus. Due to a glitch, possibly caused by the virus being incomplete, Sigma was able to knock Zero out with a single blow to the head which transfered the virus. I think the virus was incomplete because it didn't have the same effect on Zero as it did in Megaman X5, and also in Megaman X5 the Maverick/Sigma virus had to combined with the colony virus to form the Zero virus which gives off the same readings that Zero does. Sigma had the damaged Zero repaired and took him under his wing after the battle. Sigma didn't turned maverick, or at least didn't show it, for sometime afterwards perhaps infecting Maverick Hunters secretly for his rebellion against the humans. Zero was appointed the new leader of the maverick hunters. Zero and X fought against Sigma's forces together where Zero gave him support and even sacrificed himself to help X defeat Vile("Vava" in Japan). About 6 months after Sigma's defeat, the X("Counter" in Japan)-Hunters tried to gather all of Zero's parts for the "unification". X managed to get all of Zero's parts from the X-Hunters reviving Zero and defeated Sigma once more. As the main computer was exploding, Sigma, confused about Zero's conduct toward him, indirectly mentioned that Zero was Dr. Wily's final creation showing that Sigma knew more then he should have for a Maverick. Some time later, Dr. Doppler made the discovery that Sigma's true form was that of a computer virus. He made an antivirus which supposedly stopped all maverick actively. The antivirus was proved to be a placebo after Dr. Doppler led an assault with many powerful repliroids he gathered which were now mavericks. X and Zero teamed up once again to take down the mavericks. After Doppler's defeat it was discovered that Sigma infected Doppler and was behind it all again. After X defeated Sigma, Sigma tried to possess him, however Zero saved him with the antivirus modification Doppler made for his Zero Saber. Some time later, Cain labs created the Repliforce to fight against maverick attacks hopefully with better results then the Maverick Hunters'. Also, at some point during this time Zero began having nightmares of Dr. Wily's dark shape telling Zero to get "him" and destroy "him". Zero's nightmares are also full of the images of the repliroids he killed as a maverick. Zero became friends with Colonel, and secretly fell in love with Colonel's sister Iris who secretly loved him too. After the fall of Sky Lagoon which Sigma caused, Colonel showed up to save his sister. X or Zero(depending on who you choose) asked Colonel to disarm and return to Maverick Hunter HQ, but Colonel refused. The current leader of the Maverick Hunters(not Zero anymore) declared Repliforce responsible for the fall of the Sky Lagoon and mavericks. Repliforce decided to fight for their independence and start the "coup". X and Zero were then forced to fight against them since they were declared mavericks. Zero, unable to convince Colonel to stop the coup is forced to kill him, which drives Iris mad with grief after trying many times to stop them from fighting. Zero is then forced to fight Iris, after he defeats her he rushes to her side where they have one last moment together. When Iris dies in Zero's arms he loses it and questions what he is fighting for. Zero continues forward to discover Sigma was behind it at, again. On the flight home Zero thinks about Iris and again loses it says "we all just turn out to be mavericks after all!" More time passes, and Zero's nightmares continue haunting him. Sigma teams up with Dr. Wily (probably a hologram like Dr. Light) and decides to spread the maverick virus across the world and then crash a colony from space, which contained a separate virus, into the earth to create the Zero virus and awaken Zero's "true self". Although X and Zero where able to prevent the colony from destroying the planet (which Sigma counted on) it still was able to create the Zero virus. After Sigma was defeated, X found Zero's badly damaged body and while X was distracted, Sigma's remains appeared and shot through both X and Zero. Zero regains consciousness and destroys Sigma's remains. Zero dying next to the unconscious X remembers his life, finally comes to understand what he is and decides that his death would be best for all. X's body was repaired by the Dr. Light hologram, and from that time on X had a new confidence as he fights with Zero's beam saber in his hand.
