Eargram
Ears are usually pierced in the lobe, but they can be pierced almost anywhere as you can see above.

- procedure -

1. The area is well cleaned with hydrogen peroxide.

2. The place to be pierced is marked, and OKed.

3. A needle, sometimes hollow, is pushed through the part of the ear being pierced.

4. The needle is removed and a captive bead, barbell, or circular barbell is inserted into the hole.

5. The bead is placed in the ring, or the bead is screwed on and the piercing is complete.

- aftercare -

After the ear is pierced you can expect the area to feel "hot". But don't worry, it goes away in a few hours. The ear may appear a LITTLE red for a day or two, this is normal, a lot of redness is not expected and could be a sign of infection.

You should clean the piercing three times a day. Using Neosporin or Hydrogen Peroxide and a Q-Tip, thoroughly clean both ends of the piercing. Do not use other cream based ointments because they can dry the wound and infect it.

The jewelry can be changed about 3-4 weeks after it was pierced. Captive beads or regular ear studs are generally used, they vary in color and gauge. In some cases labret studs are even used. Barbells are used to, depending on where it is pierced.
