Grandfather Winter
Grandfather Winter represents the North
direction on the Medicine Wheel. He symbolizes patience, courage and transformation. It is
during the winters of our life that we must process and integrate the healing
lessons from the West, for patience and courage are the roads that lie between humility
and transformation.
Grandfather Winter comes with red ceremonial
paint, which symbolizes that the battle within has been fought and defeated in
a Sacred Way. He is also decorated with various beads (red theme) and a hand painted eagle
plume to acknowledge the sacred medicine of the North.
