Why me?
We are here
Editty

Here are some tips for a better edit.

(1) Always make sure your actors do the same things in two different takes.  It makes it easier to cut between shots (okay, it makes it possible)

(2) Make sure, even if you are doing the jobs of twenty men that you keep a ear open to the dialogue.  Continuity gets screwed otherwise, and it makes it a tad annoying when watching it back.

(3) Make sure that you have enough material to work with, because if your DP screws up and you lose shots you have to rethink the entire film.

(4) Don’t shoot on a non-sync camera - just please don’t!

(5) Get someone who knows how to frame a shot properly - you may not be as lucky as we were!?!

(6) Never, ever say an edit will only take a couple of weeks, you will be sadly mistaken.

(7) Have quality actors to look at, you’ll be seeing them for months and months and months.

I’ll be adding to this in the coming weeks - keep your eyes peeled.
