This website is totally devoted to the film that is set to open sometime in the first quarter of 2001. Made in June 2000 on a budget of less than £5,000, this film was written and directed by first time writer/director Peter Hearn.  With a curious blend of quirky humour, serious drama, and Peter Greenaway style locations, this film has already garnered comparisons with the Coen Brothers and Richard Lester’s ‘A Hard Day’s Night’.  With the blown out black and white feel of Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Pi’ and a killer soundtrack from the likes of Lorna, Deep, The Heath Robinson, Dado Jehan (a god!), Miriam Jones and a mind blowing score by Neil Johnson.  Appleseed Lake plays out like a Tom Waits song.  Sad, poignant, funny, very gravelly... Oh, and it’s genius!

Starring a cast of virtual unknowns at time of writing, Appleseed Lake may not win any oscars, but it may well showcase new talent.
