Net Addiction
A recent study has been conducted that said about 11 million people are actually addicted to the Internet. I don't think there is any such thing as Internet addiction:
If you looked up addiction in the dictionary, it would be defined as something along the line of not being able to physically live without a certain stimulus. Now, if you couldn't go on the internet for say, a week would you still be alive to whine and complain about it? Well I sincerely doubt you'd be dead on the floor. People do not have fatigue and convulsions without access to the internet. Therefore it is not an "addiction". I admitt some people have cravings to go on but it isn't that serious. People who spend their lives online just need to chill out, turn it off and go outside, just get back to reality. It is one thing to spend your time online if you are bored out of your mind, but it is different if you live your entire life on it, if you can't imagine life without it. Classifying this as an addiction is just an easy way out of coming to terms with the real problems in your lives. People don't want to face their problems.. admitt they might be coming on because there is something wrong in their lives. So, seriously people need to switch off the 'puter, walk away and sort out their lives.
