Some people want to lower the legal age for sex. I disagree. This is why:

The idea of teenage pregnancies, when you think about it, is a very scary thing. Can you imagine it? Your life being turned upside-down, nothing ever being the same again. And yet somehow tens of thousands of teenage girls every year have children. Why, I ask myself. In this day and age with computers and men in space shouldn't we be more careful, smarter you could say. But we aren't. Through lack of public knowledge and advice we let teenage girls ruin their lives.

So now we come to the real debate. Are teenagers too young to handle the pressures of sex? Obviously they are as they feel pressured into doing things they don't want to do because its the 'thing to do'. You may argue with me and I do admit that some teens are sensible and realise the implications of what they are doing. But others, as the figures show, aren't.

That is why I don't agree with the lowering of the legal age for sex. Because of the general disaproval of talking about it, and the fact teens are just too young.
