About Flatland Spider...

odisb#1 Flatland Spider was Sunny Day Real Estate's first single. Well, actually, it was their first album altogether. There were only two pressings, ultimately equaling 500 copies, of Flatland, therefore, it is extremely hard to find. Only the first pressing of this album came with an insert, the second did not. It was recorded before Jeremy Enigk joined the band, so Dan Hoerner does the vocals in this 7". This album is unlike the Sunny Day many know and love. It has more of a "hard core," shall we say, sound to it (largely due to Dan's singing on the album). Although this album may not represent the SDRE of today, it is sure to be the prize of any fan's collection.

About Thief Steal Me A Peach...

odisb#2 Theif steal me a peach is the name of Sunny Day Real Estate's second 7". This album is the first 7" with Jeremy E. in the band, and the first with a layout containing Christopher Thompson's artwork. TSMAP had a very small run like Flatland Spider(500), making it the other most hard to get album. Its name was inspired by William Blake's poem of the same name. The 7" comes with an insert by Dan explaining his take on the album, and thanking those that helped to create it. It also comes with an accompaning booklet which contains art by Chris Thompson and words by Dan Hoerner. This whimsical "scarecrow" book is amusing for anyone with an interest in poetry and art - a decidedly wonderful bonus to the album! The version of song#8 on TSMAP is different than the version on "Lp2," it is said to be a "louder version", and the "vocals are higher than most sdre songs." Although the music is the reason to buy this 7", sleeper feels that the artwork is what makes this single stand out from the rest.

About Friday/Spade and Parade...

bs/pus-400680 Friday/Spade and Parade is individual (as are the first two) in layout design. The cover and back artwork for this album was done by, the now famous, Pushead. The art is completely different than Pushead's usual skulls and bones, it contains a cartoony little man holding signs which read "Sunny Day Real Estate." The colors pop in bright hues of orange and yellow. The Friday 7" was recorded on Pushead's own "Bacteria Sour" label, 500 were pressed, and they came in (atleast) two different formats. The first 333 albums pressed were signed and numbered by Pushead and went exclusively to Pushead Fanclub members. These contained foiled cardboard inserts with lyrics on the back. The second batch of pressings had inserts with lyrics, but they were non-irodescent(or foiled) colored inserts, and were all unsigned.

About STT/SDRE Split 7"...

SP4000 The 2000 copies that were pressed of this split 7" promoted Sunny Day Real Estate during their Fall '94 tour with Shudder to Think. The single contains songs by both bands, and had an unusually simple layout. It comes in a basic white sleeve with stamps on both sides. The front stamp says: "Sub Pop Records Presents...SP-4000", and underneath that: "Shudder To Think ***playing...'X-French Tee Shirt,' followed by: "Sunny Day Real Estate***playing...'In Circles'(edit)" and a final line that reads,"Play this record at...45 rpm...And Enjoy!!!". The stamp on the back cover contains a listing of all the spots on the STT/SDRE Fall '94 tour, and a reminder at the bottom to look for STT's, then new, single "(SP283) available on Sub Pop Nov. 22, 1994", and SDRE's, then new, "Diary(cass/cd SP246b) available now on Sub Pop."

About HIFTBSO b/w Bucket Of Chicken...

This brand new 7", recently for sale on SubPop's webpage, has been in demand from day one. SubPop's supply of the 7" ran out within a few days of its first appearance on the webpage. Although there are a few different variations, all the albums have a mostly off-white cover with maroon lettering, and a flap front that ties in a star cut-out under the words "Sunny Day Real Estate." The back cover contains the same maroon lettering, this time with the names of the two songs on the single: How It Feels To Be Something On, and Bucket Of Chicken underneath. This 7" started out at 3000 pressed, and increased to 3400 due to demand.
