Clubwoman Scholarship
Applicants must be recommended to the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs Scholarship Board of Trustees and sponsored by a per capita, dues paying club. The sponsoring club is required to compile the necessary materials listed on the application and forward them in one (1) envelope to the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs Scholarship Board of Trustees Chairman.
DEADLINE: MARCH 1 (in order for the application to be considered).
One scholarship will be given annually. The amount to be given will be determined by the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs Scholarship Board of Trustees. A club may ONLY sponsor one (1) candidate for this scholarship annually.
The scholarship recipient will be notified by the Chairman of the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs Board of Trustees following the Annual Meeting (Convention) of the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs. The recipient must notify the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs Scholarship Board of Trustees Chairman by June 30 of her decision to accept or reject the scholarship.
A check in the amount of the scholarship will be mailed directly to the recipient by the GFWC/Ohio Federation of
Women’s Clubs Treasurer by September 1.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Statement from applicant regarding purpose of application.
2. Copy of letter of acceptance from Ohio school or college on official school letterhead.
3. Educational and employment history of applicant.
4. Summary of community service activities and leadership roles.
5. Hobbies and club activities.
6. Two (2) letters of recommendation:
a. One (1) from a community leader.
b. One (1) from the sponsoring club explaining the reasons why this application should be selected.
