I heard about Vision Quests for the first time this summer and I was immediately drawn to it. I had to do one. I had no previous knowledge of Native American practices and certainly no Native American ancestral blood in me, but something was pulling me to this sacred Native American ceremony. In September, I went. It was a very powerful, moving and enlightening experience. The medicine wheel figured prominently in the fasting portion of the Quest. It IS very powerful medicine. I am now a believer in Great Spirit (I still have lots of trouble using the term "God") and am a believer in our connection to each other, all things, all matter. A great weight has been lifted from me. A flame has been lit inside me. I have begun my journey to understanding. I find your page enlightening, encouraging, and motivating. Ms. Sue I'm glad someone has taken time to accept one of our fallen from Kham Duc. It was unfortunet that this happened to anyone in our Battalion. I met Ransbottom in Jan. 1968 in Fort Lewis Washington just before we all deployed for Vietnam. That was the only time I had spoken to him. I have a picture of him which I put together for his Mother. If you would like one I can e-mail it to you. It's a touching photo. Once again thank you for careing.

Thanks so much for your extensive work. I became interested in Earth Medicine a few years ago, and have read the books you recommend here. I'm a crow, and was led to the Medicine Way by a friend to whom I'd confided that I was growing more introspective as I approach 50. My first grandchild, a girl, was born just yesterday, and I found your site on the laptop at the hospital as I waited and was searching for what spiritual guidance I might be able to offer her as she begins another journey on the Red Road.
