Other GO Buses

In the spring of 1973, following the succes of its Dial-A-Ride program in Pickering, GO Transit announced plans for a much larger Dial-A-Bus system in the Toronto suburb of North York. Initially operated with Van Hool minibuses rented from Charterways Transportation Ltd., purpose-built vehicles soon arrived. They were called "Club Cars" and were built by Rek-Vee Industries in Scarborough, using Funcraft motorhome bodies on Dodge RM-350 heavy-duty van chasis.

Because the Toronto Transit Commission had an exclusive franchise in Metropolitan Toronto, GO contracted with the TTC for the operation of this service, and the minibuses also carried TTC crests, even though they were in GO Transit's livery.

The full history of the North York Dial-A-Bus operation can be found by following this link.
