After the releases of Red and Green in Japan, and Red and Blue in America, Nintendo decides to release another Version: Pokemon Yellow. Pokemon Yellow is to mimic the tv show. This plays like the other versions but their are some differences. When you go to Professor Oak, you will first receive Pikachu and Gary will get an Eevee. You will still get the other starting 3 Pokemon Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle. When you go around, talk to people and they might give you one of these 3 Pokemon. Also when travelling around Pikachu will be following you like in the tv show. You can interact with him and see how he’s feeling. You will encounter many familiar faces including Jesse and James of Team Rocket, Officer Jenny, and Nurse Joy. The game also includes some movies of Pikachu doing things like surfing and flying. Some Pokemon have been redrawn, looking better than before. Pokemon like Nidoran (male and female), and Geodude. You won’t have to trade to get the other 11 Pokemon from the other versions because Yellow has a combination of both the rare pokemon from red and blue. You still have to trade to get CHOICE Pokemon (e.g. Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon). There is also a cool new feature where you can print pictures of pokemon using the gameboy printer. If you don’t already have red, blue, or green then get Yellow. Nintendo has announced that on October 25,1999, they will be releasing a new Game Boy Color made especially for the release of Pokemon Yellow. It is a Yellow Gameboy with pictures of Pokemon on it like Pikachu and Jigglypuff. This version of the Game Boy Color will have a Pokemon Yellow packed with it. What a great deal! If you already have Red and/or Blue I suggest you wait for Gold and Silver. If you love Pikachu that much then get Yellow if you want.
