14 May 1805- - AT THE HOUSE OF JAMES WELBORN IN WILKESBOROUGH came JOHN HARMON who deposeth & sayeth. WILLIAM ADAMS gave away his land because of the Moravian claim. His son WILLIAM ADAMS spoike the same words. JOHN MAJORS repeated the same. I heard my father (not named) say he tried to buy some of the land. My father is dead. Questions: What did JOHN ADAMS tell you about the Moravians claiming land when he and his father went to buy some land from them, taking along skins to pay for said land?..... I moved here in 1778 and lived in a mile or so of the ADAMS". As soon as we were CLEAVERLY ACQUAINTED they talked about the Morvanian land.....I know deaf WILLIAM MITCHELL, OLD WILLIAM ADAMS, HIS SONS, JOHN & WILLIAM ADAMS lived where MR. N.
