(General Superintendent, ca.1903, ca.1905, ca.1913 Pittsburg Buffalo Company, Francis Mine.) A slope opening. The company began shipping coal in the month of August, 1903. The mine is being operated day and night so as to develop the property as quickly as possible to obtain a large production.
The Dinsmore Dam was built in the early 1900's. When they built the company towns they often had to provide a water source for the homes. They built this dam and a reservoir at Marianna. This image is actually a photo postcard. Note the postal stamp.
