The Obituary of James Cascaden, Company G, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers. He died on November 5th 1862 as a result of a Gunshot wound from The Battle of Fair Oaks. where he was wounded on May 31st 1862. This obituary was from the November 5th 1862, Philadelphia ledger. His funeral was held at his fathers home and he was buried at Monument Cemetery in Philadelphia. That Cemetery was removed in 1951 and all burials were relocated to Lawnview Cemetery in Rockledge,PA. The Obituary of James Mcginnis , Company G 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers. He died on August 25th 1864. He was on his way home after surviving the war. He was riding atop of a box Car heading into Philadelphia on The Gray's Ferry Bridge when his head struck a crossbeam and killed him instantly. He was three miles away from meeting his family at the railroad Depot. He was buried at Old Cathedral Cemetery in Philadelphia.
