The grave of Private Nicholas B. Sands of Company R, 23rd Pennsylvania.He died on July 26th 1862. He is buried at Cypress Hill National Cemetery on Long Island, NY. Sec. 1 Lot 267 Grave 1.
The grave of Private Corneilius Mundy of Company H, 23rd Pennsylvania.He died on August 11th 1862. He is buried at Cypress Hill National Cemetery on Long Island, NY. Sec. 1 Lot 341 Grave 1.
Grave of Corporal Daniel Schlabach of Company L. He is buried at Hollenback Cemetery in Willkes Barre,PA. He was mustered into service on August 18th 1861 and mustered out on June 28th 1865. He is buried near the front entrance up on the hill in the GAR Plot. He also served with Company D of the 61st PA from March 1862 to June 1865. Thanks to James Barberio and Dave Bogaczyk for locating the grave.
Grave of Pvt. Johnathon Schlabach of Company L. He is buried at Hollenback Cemetery in Willkes Barre,PA. He was mustered into service on September 4th 1861 and mustered out on September 7th 1864 at the expiration of his term. He is buried near the front entrance up on the hill in the GAR Plot. He also served with Company D of the 61st PA from March 1862 to September 1864. Thanks to James Barberio and Dave Bogaczyk for locating the grave.
Grave of Corp. J.J. McDermott of Company L. He is buried at Hollenback Cemetery in Willkes Barre,PA. He was mustered into service on August 18th 1861 as a member of Company L, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers . He was seriously wounded at the Battle of Fair Oaks and taken prisoner on May 31st 1862.He was discharged on a surgeons certificate on December 9th 1862. Grave of 1st Sgt. William D. Beels of Company L. He is buried in

Hanover Green Cemetery

in Hanover, Luzerne County,PA, just behind the chapel. He was mustered into service on August 18th 1861 and mustered out on June 28th 1865. He was wounded at 2nd Frederickburg during the charge of Marye's Heights with the 61st PA. He also served with Company D of the 61st PA from March 1862 to June 1865.
