| This is the Grave of Private Theodore Bisbing Company B , 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, also known by their nickname, “Birney’s Zouaves”. He was born in Philadelphia in 1837. Theodore mustered into the 23rd Pennsylvania at the Schuylkill Arsenal in Philadelphia on April 21st 1861 and served with the Regiment on it's Three Month Campaign . On September 8th 1861, he moved with the Regiment to Washington D.C, where he was encamped just three miles north of the Capitol on “The Queen’s Farm” at Camp Graham . He was there with the Regiment during the cold winter months and in December of 1861; Typhoid Fever broke out within the Camp which resulted in the Death of Fifty-One men of the 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers including Theodore, who died on December 22nd 1861 and was buried at American Mechanics Cemetery, 22nd and Diamond Street Philadelphia, PA. In 1951 the Cemetery was removed for the development of North Philadelphia in what is known as "The Diamond Project".His remains were taken to Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazier, Pennsylvania in Section 3, Lot 11, Grave 1 in an unmarked Grave.

| The Grave of Corporal Maurice L. Spear of Company K, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. Maurice was mustered into service on August 6th 1861. He served his three year enlistment. During that time he was wounded at The Battle of Cold Harbor on June 1st 1864. Maurice was mustered out of service on September 8th 1864. He re-enlisted and was transfered to the 82nd Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was discharged with honor on July 17th 1865. He is buried at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio in Section 1 Row 26 Site 56.

| The Grave of Private William Irwin of Company I, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. Maurice was mustered into service on August 19th 1861. He served his three year enlistment. Maurice was mustered out of service on September 8th 1864. He re-enlisted and was transfered to the 82nd Pennsylvania Volunteers, Company H. He was discharged with honor on July 13th 1865. He is buried at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.

| The Grave of Private Richard McCabe of Company ?, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. Maurice was mustered into service on August 19th 1861. He served his three year enlistment. Maurice was mustered out of service on September 8th 1864. He is buried at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.

| Grave of Musician George W. Blanck of Company B, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Regiment. He was born in 1845. He mustered in on September 1st 1861 as a Drummer Boy for Company B. When the musicians were sent home, he remained with the 23rd as a Private. He was captured at Stone House Mountain in September of 1863. He was exchanged on December 10th 1864. He was mustered out of service on March 15th 1865. He moved back to Camden NJ for the remainder of his life. He died on April 10th 1922 at the age of 78. He is buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Camden, NJ. He is buried in Section I, Lot 423, Grave 1.
