| The Grave of Private William Holt of Company D, 23rd Pennsylvania, "Birneys Zouaves". He was mustered into Service on August 21st 1861. He was wounded at the battle of Fair Oaks, shot in the ear on May 31st 1862 and then discharged from Service. He suffered the remainder of his Life from Post Tramatic War Syndrome and lack of good Judgement.William was born in 1836 in England, became a naturalized citizen in Philadelphia, PA in 1860, & served in the Civil War. After the war, he went to St. Louis, MO, where he married Frances (Fanny) Lewis; she is part of the larger Meriwether Lewis clan. They had 3 children, & while she was expecting the 3rd , he left her & the children after helping himself to her father's fortune (sometime in 1874).He then moved to New Jersey married Elizabeth and died there in 1918. he is buried at Mount Holly Cemetery, Mount Holly NJ in Division A, Section 5, Lot 683, Block 2 .

| The Grave of Musician James K. Millman of Company K, 23rd PA Volunteers. He was mustered in on August 6th 1861 as a Drummer. He was transfered to Company H, 82nd PA until April 1865.He is buried in Togus National Cemetery, Togus Maine in Section A, Site 2980.

| The Grave of Philip Cavender, Private in Company G, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers. Moved to Marshalltown Iowa Soldiers Home on November 11th 1890. He was the 640th Resident in the Home. He died there on November 28th 1900. He is buried at the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery in Section Center, Row 10 Grave 26.

| The Grave of Captain Hiram Kirk Spear, Company D, Three Month Volunteers, 23rd Pennsylvania. Hiram Spear was born on November 23rd 1838. Captain Spear was mustered into Service on April 21st 1861, being one of the first to serve. He fought with the 23rd at The Battle of Falling Waters and was mustered out of service on July 31st 1861. He died on October 5th 1895. He is buried at Atlantic City Cemetery in Atlantic City ,New Jersey.

| Private James R. Hethington, Company D, 23rd Pennsylvania Three Month Volunteers. He was mustered into Service on April 21st 1861, one of the first to enlist from Philadelphia. He was mustered out of Service on July 31st 1861. He renlisted and served with the 121st Pennsylvania Volunteers, 59th PA and 2nd PA Cavalry. He died on February 12th 1905 at the age of 63. His burial plot is at the Hephzibah Baptist Church in East Fallowfield, Chester County, PA. Please visit The Original Photos Page 23 for more info .
