Project Report Part 2

Venue: Cullercoats Beach
Date: 31/5/2003
Team Members Present: Pearson, Gilly, Tooma, Wally, Harle + Richie

The team met on the public transport service bus - the X36, at 12:10pm. We arrived at the Metro Centre at 12:30 and then proceeded to board the 301 service heading to Whitley Bay. Aboard the bus were team members Pearson, Tooma, Gilly and Wally. Guest Members Richie and Harle were also present. During the journey the team completed a crossword in The Sun Newspaper. We also started researching possible hotels to stay at for our trip to Amsterdam. Halfway through the trip Pearson got bored and tried to burst Harle’s eardrum with a holiday brochure - which was fun.

We arrived at Cullercoats Seafront at 1:55pm. The team proceeded towards the beach and took a shortcut down a small incline - for which we were quicjly told off by an old man who claimed it was a dune reclomation site. The team ignored the old man ‘s advice and decided to walk down the incline anyway, apart from Harle who took the mans advice and took the long way round, meeting us on the beach 10 minutes later. Gilly and Richie decided to brave the elements and dived straight into the water. The pair went wave jumping, but Richie encountered a problem when he forgot to jump. He went under the water and re-appeared 30 seconds later gasping for air. Gilly and Richie then decided to go and rejoin the rest of the team who were relaxing on the sand. Harle, Wally and Pearson then decided to go in the water, but didn’t stay long as Harle said it was too cold. They quickly made their way back to the rest of the team, but before they got back Pearson thought it would be funny to rugby tackle Harle to the sand, and as Harle was wet from the water all the sand stuck to him ( Click for photo ) The team then spent an hour swimming and relaxing until something else intresting happened. Some mister decided to drown, and this prompted the lifeguard into action, however by the time they got there, the mister had already been saved ( Click for photo ) Tooma and Wally then made the decision to dig a large hole, which Tooma christened ‘The Sex Pit’. We then proceeded to bury Tooma in his own hole. ( Click for photo )

After Tooma escaped from his hole, we went back up the road and across to a large pond, where we noticed people on pedalos. We enquired about the price of the pedalos, but realised £1.80 an hour was out of our budget, so we went to catch the bus instead. We waited a while for the bus to turn up, then boarded with our ‘Go and Save’ Bus Cards. On the way back we seen The Fire Station, Dennis Chemists and the Dance Studio. About a quarter into the journey we stopped outside Krusty’s, and the team all had the same thought - we jumped off the bus and walked over to Krusty’s. Gilly tried to open the door but soon realised it was locked, Krusty’s was shut, we were devestated! But then a woman came round the corner and asked if we wanted anything, our problems were solved - this was the owner. She opened the shop and proceeded to serve us. The team purchased the following products:

Gilly: 1 Sausage Roll and 1 Roast Pork + Stuffing Sandwich.
Harle: 1 Mars Bar
Wally: 1 Chicken Sandwich
Pearson: 2 Chicken Sandwiches ( Click for photo )

After thanking the woman for her kindness, we went back across the road to the bus stop and waited 20 minutes for another 301 bus to arrive. On our new bus we went upstairs and sat down near the front. After about 5 minutes, some strange little kids started laughing at us. ( Click for photo ) They then told us that they had made nicknames for us all, these are as follows.

Gilly: Ginga Ninja
Wally: Lippy
Pearson: Diet
Harle: Psycho Bob
Richie: Curly
Tooma: Big Nose

The little retards departed the bus at Gateshead interchange Station, while we stayed aboard and headed back to the Metro Centre. We arrived at the Metro Centre at around 4:30, and walked along to Klick Photopoint where we handed in our disposable camera to be developed. We then turned back around and waited at the bus stop for the X36, jumped aboard and then headed back home. The team all agreed it was a great day out.
