~ Prologue ~

JC watched as the waves gently lapped against the shore. He closed his eyes and let the sweet smell of the salt water take over his senses, bringing him back to the happiest time in his life. It had only been four years since he had been here last, but those years had seemed more like four lifetimes.

It was fate that had brought him here four years ago; he was sure of that. And it was fate that had made him leave with a broken heart. Four years. The words kept replaying in his mind. Four years ago his life had changed dramatically and he had, for once in his life, felt complete and whole, but just as quickly as he had felt that way his happiness was taken away.

JC's eyes opened again and he took in the beautiful ocean surrounding him. He began to think of how it had all started. Replaying every intimate detail in his mind as he had a thousand times before. He always started at the beginning; the beginning of the most wonderful summer he had ever experienced...
