Through a wrought-iron gate off of Greymalkin Lane, down a twisting, winding, and thickly wooded drive, The Nexxus Academy sits as the former home of the X-Men.  It  is also a state of the art facility that provides an educational experience like no other. Complete with a Shi'ar enhanced Danger Room, functional satellite communication systems, online/VR terminals for every dormitory room, and a full medical facility, the Nexxus Academy is without par when compared to educational institutions throughout the world.

Down a desolate two lane road, the Nexxus estate remains hidden from a driver's view by a dense forest that surrounds the area, and the twists and turns of the drive leading to the mansion. Mostly contained by a 12ft high brick wall, the estate sprawls over nearly 50 acres, with a single roadway standing as its only link to the outside world.  This road is modulated by a huge wrought iron gate, ane half-mile from the mansion itself, that makes the school seem far more foreboding than intended.

Past the gates, the mansion's lawns are neatly tended to an almost near perfection state. Past a huge multi-car garage for faculty, the road arcs past the front door, where students are usually moved in/out during times of enrollment. The road then loops around in a circle, leading back outside. On the encircled lawn, however, there is a large, exquisite fountain, consisting of a sculpture by Piotr Rasputin depicting a beautiful angelic being reaching towards the heavens dedicated to his sister, Illyana. The fountain and sculpture are both made of marble and gold.

Behind the mansion and between it and the lake exist a tennis court, swimming pool, a basketball court, and a jogging track around the lake. On the lake is a dock, and boat house that provides many hours of entertainment for students on summer days.  To the western side of the estate are the stables and an enclosed gazebo, and towards the east lay the Chinese rock garden. With a recent purchase of an adjacent estate once used for farming purposes, a baseball field has been created for students interested in the sport.  Common team names are oft taken from super hero team names, so it's not unusual to see the Avengers vs. the X-men on the diamond. Between the Nexxus Estate and the baseball diamond, an anti-gravity arena has been established for the recent--i.e. future-- fad of sporting.

****Vehicles for student use (since no students are allowed personal transportation during their stay at the Nexxus) are in the main garage, and may be used only with permission of the faculty members.
