Pipe Major Iain McNeill

  Elected Pipe Major in November 2000

Iain joined Monktonhall Colliery Pipe Band at the tender age of eight, eventually appearing as a Grade II piper.  He joined Polkemmet Grade I Pipe Band in 1986, playing for three years before moving south to Weymouth, Dorset.  After some years away from pipe bsnds, Iain joined Ringwood and was soon made Pipe Sergeant by P/M Robert Pearson.  On Bob's retirement in November, iain was the unanimous choice as the new Pipe Major.  Already, the band have entered quartettes and mini band competitions and taken part in Tattoo's under his leadership.
