Soon, they met a cat. The cat was tired and wet.

"What is wrong with you?" they asked. "I am getting

old, " said the cat. "I no longer chase mice. I would

rather sit by the fire and purr.

 My owners tried to drown me." "Come with us to Bremen," said the donkey and dog.

"I would be very happy to," said the cat. "I can sing and meow very well." The three friends

passed by a yard. They heard a rooster crowing. "Why are you crowing?" they

asked.
