The rooster was very sad. "I
overheard the
cook saying they were going to boil me for Sunday dinner," said the rooster. The donkey, dog and cat felt sorry for the rooster. "Why don't you come with us to Bremen?" said the donkey. "I would like that very much," said the rooster. |
So the four friends started out to find a place to sleep. The animals walked until they came
to a dark forest. The donkey said, "It is getting dark. I think the cat should go ahead of us. She
has very good eyes." The cat climbed a tree and looked around.
