The Morning of the Sisters 4 Life Race

This morning there is a race
Contestants are vying for first place
It is sponsored by Sisters 4 Life
In an effort to stop abuse of a wife
And a vulnerable girlfriend
Violence in every relationship must end
So many today see life as futile
Their solution to problems is to be brutal
They are thoughtlessly mean
They are not bashful in creating a scene
Violence causes them to lose control
The only deterrent for them is the cop on patrol

This morning, however, brings hope
To prevent behavior like those on dope
Hopefully, there will be a strategy of prevention
In other cases may be early intervention
So, the race is for more than fun
It seeks to raise a tidy sum
That will be prudently used
To ring relief and prevention of the abused
So, it is a grand and noble cause
For which from our routine we do pause
Participation allows each in his or her own way
To bring a truly loving relationship into play

So, this morning we remember Rosmari Pleasure
Bu rearranging our Saturday morning schedule
It is more than a privilege to participate
Enthusiastically, we rush not to be late
She was for too young to die
Bewildered by the senseless act, we ask why?
Why must people act so unreasonable?
Violence is so frequent, it can not be called seasonal
It is a most as if society has become a production mill
That turns out those who seek to destroy and kill
Thus, converts to excellence, Sisters seek to gain
So, Rose, you and others will not have died in vain
