Starfleet Uniforms

Admirals' Uniforms

Admirals in the STF have three uniforms specifically designed for them--two duty variants and a dress uniform. Some Admirals, such as those in command of vessels, prefer the original duty uniform and are perfectly entitled to wear them. Admirals typically wear red uniforms (although there have been a few that have kept their gold and teal undershirts) and have their pips on both sides of their collar. Also, they have a belt with the federation logo, and they have gold trim on their uniforms.

Duty Uniforms

The standard duty uniforms for the STF are exactly the same as those used in the rest of Starfleet: black main body, grey shoulders, and undershirt color coordinated to department (red for command, gold for Tactical/Security and Engineering, teal for Science and Medical, green for Marines, and the last uniform shown for Fighter Pilots).

Informal Duty Uniforms

While not generally authorized, some captains have been known to allow their crews to forgo the black tunic and only wear their colored turtle necks. This only done when no attack or mission is expected, and even then, it is quite rare.

Dress Uniforms

Captains wear the same dress uniforms as Admirals do. It consists of black dress slacks with gold trim stripes on the outer side seams, a white undershirt, and a white, unisex form-fitting jacket with gold trim. Officers ranked lower than Captain wear the same uniform with a blue-grey undershirt. Enlisted personnel wear a similar uniform that is mainly colored in various shades of grey.

Gamma Fleet Uniforms

These uniforms are issued to officers in the Gamma Fleet and typically are worn only in that quadrant. The first and second are newer issues of former uniforms. The final is issued to New Frontier crew and are color coordinated to department.

Training Uniforms

These uniforms are for people undergoing special training, such as a Starfleet officer attempting to go through physical training, Hazard Team training, command school, and other activities.

Cadet Uniforms

Cadets at Starfleet Academy, whether they are going through the normal Academy at any of its branches or the Tactical Academy on Vulcan, all wear these uniforms. Red is still for command, gold for security/tactical and engineering, and teal is for science or medical.
